In a news release Thursday, the Perimeter Community Improvement District announced one westbound right lane of Interstate 285 at the Ashford Dunwoody Road exit bridge in DeKalb County will be closed for an hour Saturday beginning at about 10 a.m. for work on the diverging diamond interchange at that exit.
The brief lane closure is required to secure the bolt pattern of the existing structures holding up directional signs on the 285/Ashford Dunwoody Road interchange bridge according to E.R. Snell Contractor Inc., which was awarded the $4.6 million construction by the Georgia Department of Transportation to reconfigure the interchange into the diverging diamond interchange design.
Also, as part of the same project, weather permitting, beginning Monday at 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the same time, the left southbound lane of Ashford Dunwoody Road will close for night construction to remove street lights from the raised median. Wednesday, the right lanes of the Ashford Dunwoody Road bridge, both northbound and southbound, will close for night construction.
