Fulton school board to hold
public hearings on millage rate
By From staff reports

The Fulton County Board of Education will hold two public hearings, 11 a.m. and 6:01 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 3 to hear from citizens about a proposed millage rate increase for fiscal 2011. Both hearings will be held at the school system’s Administrative Center, located at 786 Cleveland Ave., SW, in Atlanta.

After the 11 a.m. hearing, the board will discuss land, legal and/or personnel issues in executive session. Members will then convene to open session after the 6:01 p.m. meeting to approve the proposed millage rate and vote on any executive session matters requiring action.

All of the meetings of the board are open to the public unless designated as executive session, where state law requires the school board to convene in private to discuss land, legal and/or personnel items.
