The Weber School was represented at the GISA traditional wrestling state championships this past weekend by Ari Feldstein.

Competing in the 119-pound weight class, the sophomore earned his second consecutive trip to the state meet. Weber head coach Tim Meredith said he thinks Feldstein has an excellent shot at placing in the top three because of his work ethic.

“He’s a hard worker on the mat and in the classroom as well,” he said. “As a co-captain he’s a great leader and a motivator as well.”

Meredith said that Feldstein has grown a lot since his freshman year, but from a mental standpoint more so than from a physical one.

“He’s grown a lot mentally,” he said. “He had the physical attributes last year, but the mental attitude as far as confidence has grown a lot over this past season.”

The coach said that the sky is the limit for Feldstein and that it will be up to him to reach his full potential.

“He will be his biggest enemy,” he said. “I think he has a chance to place at state the next three years and possibly win it.

“It will be up to him.”
